Leo Cullen was pleased overall with his Leinster sides narrow defeat against the Lions on Saturday afternoon. Two losing bonus points was not the worst outcome in a side with a plethora of big names not featuring. However, Cullen will now have to plan for the second-leg of this mini South-African tour without Harry Byrne and Max Deegan.
Caspar Gabriel had impressed at out-half, being replaced by Byrne with half an hour left to play. A late, high-tackle from SJ Kotze wasn't enough for him appear to need a head injury assessment {HIA}, but in the aftermath of the match it was deemed he had suffered a concussion and will undergo the required return-to-play protocols.
