Eleven Leinster players started in Ireland’s opening game of the 2023 World Cup. We all know the result. It’s hard to erase. There were other things hard to erase later on in that World Cup. But this night, September 23rd, lives on for the right reasons.
Take it out of context of the pain to follow. Watch it again. It was a game of brutish beauty. Eleven Leinster players started, three would come off the bench. But let’s be honest; when it’s Ireland, that really does go out the window. We don’t sit and think how much one provincial representative is doing in comparison to another player from a different region. We are all in.
